Über die Häufigkeit chronischer Nierenerkrankungen (CNE) bei Katzen gibt es nur wenige Daten, ältere Studien beschreiben eine Prävalenz von 1,8–3 % in der gesamten Katzenpopulation [ 13 ] . Vermutlich liegt die Prävalenz sogar noch höher – durch verbesserte Diagnostik kann die Diagnose CNE heutzutage frühzeitiger gestellt werden.
