Firocoxib ist der erste für Pferde zugelassene selektive Cyclooxygenase-2-Hemmer, der für die Behandlung von Osteoarthritis (in Form von Schmerzlinderung und Entzündungshemmung) beim Pferd zugelassen ist. Sein Einsatz bei anderen Indikationen wurde in weiteren Studien untersucht. In diesem Artikel wird eine Übersicht über die publizierten Ergebnisse und Studien über den Einsatz von Firocoxib beim Pferd vorgestellt.
