Publication History

Publication Date:
10 January 2012 (online)

The year 2012 will be a very special year for Arzneimittelforschung/Drug Research: Having changed hands in the very year it turned 60, it now starts into its 61st year from a new home, with a new look and with a new focus.

We are very glad to have had the opportunity to make Arzneimittelforschung/Drug Research a member of the Thieme family of medico-scientific journals, and its new intentness on translational medicine makes it a perfect new family member. It is a mature journal, internationally renown for quality research and its multi-facetted approach to all aspects of pharmacology. As such, its range of topics compliments and expands our portfolio further into the field of pharmacology, and we very much look forward to welcoming a whole new group of authors and readers as well as being able to offer a more differentiated portfolio to our existing readership and authors in the adjacent fields. At the same time, we are convinced that the journal will benefit from Thieme’s global presence and that we can make Arzneimittelforschung/Drug Research available to a whole new audience the world over.

We also look forward to be working with the editorial team around Professor Wehling, whose enthusiasm and ambitions we very much share. We thank him and the vast majority of the Editors for staying on board and for supporting Arzneimittelforschung/Drug Research through these occasionally bumpy times of rather momentous change.

In brief: We are very much excited at the new prospects and we will try our best to continue the success the journal has enjoyed under the flag of the Editio Cantor Verlag. And we trust that the move to Thieme will prove to have been the right one for both journal and publishing house.

We wish all our readers and authors a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012.
