Zusammenfassung

Süßholz ist die Arzneipflanze des Jahres 2012. Ihre Wurzel hat eine sehr lange Tradition der Anwendung. Anhand von Persönlichkeiten der Medizingeschichte wird der Weg des Heilmittels durch die Jahrtausende gezeigt.

Licorice root in view of famous VIPs of medical history

In Germany, licorice was elected the medicinal plant of the year 2012. Its roots have a long traditional phytotherapeutic utilization. On the basis of personalities from medical history, the article shows the path of the herbal remedy through several thousands of years.
