Unerwünschte Arzneimittelwirkungen (UAW) sind in der Augenheilkunde ein häufiges Ereignis. Hinzu kommt der große Bereich der Arzneimittelwechselwirkungen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag kann nicht das gesamte Spektrum möglicher UAW angesprochen werden, vielmehr werden Schwerpunkte (z. B. Glaukommittel und systemisch eingesetzte Therapeutika) und aktuelle Aspekte hervorgehoben. Hierzu gehören u. a.:

  • Wechselwirkungen zwischen Glaukommitteln und oralen Antihypertensiva

  • intraoperatives Floppy-Iris-Syndrom

  • intravitreale okuläre Medikamentenapplikation

  • UAW systemischer Medikamente an der Netzhaut und am N. opticus
