Die Bronchoalveolarlavage stellt eine Technik zur Gewinnung diagnostischen Materials aus den kleinen Atemwegen und dem Alveolarbereich dar. Bei richtiger Indikationsstellung und unter Berücksichtigung möglicher Kontraindikationen ist die BAL eine sehr wertvolle und zugleich auch sichere diagnostische Maßnahme in der Aufarbeitung von Erkrankungen der kleinen Atemwege und der Lunge.
