In the fourth paragraph of the introduction the wording needed to be corrected. The correct sentence is:

“In addition to the above, it is well known in other areas of medical US, where accurate measurements are important, that the transducer-near end of a white band is reliable while the transducer-far end cannot be trusted.” The publisher apologizes for this mistake.
