Zusammenfassung
Mit ätherischen Ölen verbinden viele vor allem eines: einen Hauch von Esoterik aus der Duftlampe. Dass die Inhaltsstoffe der Pflanzenöle aber weit mehr können als nur gut duften, entgeht ihnen dabei. Ätherische Öle sind gerade bei demenziellen Erkrankungen eine nicht zu unterschätzende Behandlungsoption. Wie sie auf das zentrale Nervensystem wirken und was sie gerade bei Erkrankungen wie Morbus Alzheimer bewirken können, erläutert die Expertin für Aromatherapie Eliane Zimmermann.
