Summary

In European sport horse breeding the interest in embryo transfer is increasing, mainly to use performance mares in parallel in sport and for breeding. In this article, a detailed description of embryo collection, handling and transfer in the horse together with the equipment is given. Results of scientific studies designed to improve pregnancy rates are presented.
