Fibrosierende Myopathie

Zusammenfassung

Eine 11 Jahre alte Halbaraber-Stute wurde mit einer Bewegungsasymmetrie der linken Hintergliedmaße im Schritt vorgestellt. Die Vorführphase der betroffenen Gliedmaße war im Schritt deutlich verkürzt und der Huf wurde kurz vor dem Auffußen ruckartig zurückgezogen. Am kaudalen Abschnitt des Oberschenkels stellte sich im Bereich der linken Kniekehle eine derbe Umfangsvermehrung dar, die palpatorisch weder vermehrt warm noch schmerzhaft war. Aufgrund der klinischen und der ultrasonografischen Untersuchung wurde eine fibrosierende Myopathie des M. semitendinosus der linken Hintergliedmaße diagnostiziert.

Summary

An 11-year-old Arab cross mare was presented at the clinic with a gait abnormality on the left hindleg at walk. The horse showed a forceful placement of the left hind foot at the cranial extent in the cranial phase of the stride. A non-painful firmness area was palpable within the tissues caudal to the left stifle. Ultrasonographic examination of the caudal surface of the left hindleg revealed the area of fibrosis. On the basis of clinical signs and ultrasonographic findings, the condition was diagnosed as fibrotic myopathy of the semitendinosus muscle.
