Von der Blauzungenkrankheit sind Rinder, Schafe, Ziegen und Wildwiederkäuer betroffen.
Im Jahr 2008 wurden bundesweit insgesamt 5125 Erkrankungsfälle registriert. Neben
der konventionellen Behandlung, die in der Gabe schmerz- und fiebersenkender Mittel
sowie einer prophylaktischen Antibiose besteht, gibt es auch die Möglichkeit einer

Summary
The article discusses the bluetongue disease which mostly affects cattle, sheep, goats
and other wild ruminants. In 2008, 5125 cases of the disease were recorded in Germany.
Besides conventional treatment with analgetic and antipyretic agents as well as antibiotics,
the possibility of using homeopathy is widely recognised. The article also offers
a detailed discussion of the role of vaccination against the bluetongue disease as
well as the side effects and associated injuries.
