Abstract
The effectiveness of manual therapy as part of physiotherapeutic treatment in patients with non-traumatic shoulder pain has been inadequately investigated. This randomised controlled trial persued the question whether physiotherapeutic treatment with or without manual therapy produces better results in patients with shoulder pain.
After 6 single physiotherapeutic sets the subjects with manual therapy showed a significant improvement of shoulder flexion arm mobility in comparison to the control group. The analysis of the 2 group evaluations revealed a significant improvement in all parameters except shoulder mobility in extension.
