Two cases of probably co-natal choroid-plexus papillomas in the right lateral ventricles
of the brains of two female infants are reported. They caused symptoms of progressive
hydrocephalus and intracranial hypertension immediately after birth and at the age
of 9 months respectively. One infant died at 8 months after ventriculography. In the
other girl the tumor was completely removed at the age of 10 months. 10 weeks later
she succumbed, however, to recurrent intracranial hypertension in non-communicating
hydrocephalus caused by basal meningeal adhesions. Diagnostic and therapeutic problems
are briefly discussed.
