Spontaneous Spinal Epidural Hematoma

Summary

A case of spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma is described. The patient had an additional midline disc at L3–L4. He was operated upon 5 days after the onset. Four months postoperatively he was able to walk with the help of a stick. We do think that operation should be attempted, even in neglected cases, like ours.

Es wird ein Fall eines spinalen epiduralen Spontanhämatoms beschrieben. Der Patient hatte zusätzlich einen Bandscheibenvorfall bei L3–L4. Er wurde 5 Tage nach dem Beginn operiert. Vier Monate nach der Operation konnte er an einem Stock gehen. Wir glauben, daß eine Operation selbst in vernachlässigten Fällen, wie der unsrige, versucht werden müßte.

Déscription d'un cas d' hématome epidural rachidien spontané. Le malade souffrait en outre du disque intervertébral L3–L4. L'opération a eu lieu cinq jours après le début. Quatre mois après l'opération le malade pouvait marcher à l'aide d' une canne. Nous croyons qu'une opération devrait être tentée même dans des cas négligés, comme le nôtre.
