Euvekus Schools

The 6^th Euroson POCUS School Vienna 2025 was held in Vienna on the 29^th and 30^th of August 2025, led by Dr. Mihai Iacob. Organized under the auspices of EUVEKUS (EADUS) with endorsement by EFSUMB and supported by WONCA Europe, it was an interdisciplinary collaboration with professional leadership from across multiple domains of clinical ultrasound.

Prominent leaders from 4 international organizations representing frontline physicians and ultrasound professionals ensured the success of the meeting:

• Prof. Shlomo Vinker (Israel) – President of WONCA Europe

• Prof. Adrian Lim (UK) – President-Elect of EFSUMB

• Dr. Mihai Iacob (Romania/Austria) – President of EUVEKUS

The meeting was officially aligned with the EURACT Leonardo Level 3 “Training of Trainers” (ToT) framework, promoting a structured and sustainable approach to integrating ultrasound education within the continuing professional development of family doctors.

The course followed the EUVEKUS-pioneered model, combining:

• Structured theoretical lectures

• Organ-based and system-based POCUS applications

• Real-time expert case reviews using multiparametric and AI-assisted imaging

• Multilevel hands-on workshops (basic and advanced)

• Curricular discussions and survey-based needs assessments

The event was specifically designed to meet the training needs of clinicians working in ambulatory, rural, and emergency settings, where ultrasound offers a rapid, non-invasive, and cost-effective diagnostic tool.

Over 30 oral presentations were given by the faculty from 12 countries, together with a unique video-based clinical session with real-time expert Q&A and case discussion. There was a focus on AI-assisted POCUS applications and virtual training technologies, as were sessions on multiparametric ultrasound, E-FAST protocol, MSK, vascular, breast, pediatric, and abdominal scanning.

The school was attended by over 100 participants, including family physicians, general internists, radiologists, gastroenterologists, other frontline physicians and educators, as well as medical trainees and young professionals from across Europe and beyond.
