Author commentary
Author commentary on Jacob Hamm et al.
This retrospective multicenter cohort study including 893 patients with 967 lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMSs) from 17 centers reported a significantly lower LAMS occlusion rate (odds ratio 0.61) and endoscopic necrosectomy rate (incidence rate ratio 0.8) in patients who did not receive proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) versus those who received PPIs continuously. Gastrointestinal bleeding rates were comparable between both groups (OR 1.14).
