Prateek S. Harne et al. First step to environmentally sustainable endoscopy practice: a prospective study of minimizing multiple device use during screening colonoscopy at a large tertiary center

The impact of an environmentally conscious practice intervention in the reduction of endoscopy-related waste was explored in this single-center prospective study. Comparing 210 pre-intervention and 112 post-intervention colonoscopies showed that the use of just one tool (either biopsy forceps or snare) during polypectomies increased, while the use of multiple tools significantly decreased.
