Selbstligierende Brackets in der Lingualtechnik und ihr Einsatz in der kieferorthopädischen Behandlung erwachsener Patienten

Zusammenfassung

Die kieferorthopädische Behandlung erwachsener Patienten nimmt stetig zu. Präprothetische Indikationsstellungen, parodontal vorgeschädigte Gebisse, aber auch Behandlungen nach Rezidiv, die beispielsweise mit dem „X-Effekt“ einhergehen, sind Teil des täglichen Patientenaufkommens der Kieferorthopädie. Zum individuellen Therapieansatz gehören auch moderne Apparaturen und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten, welche die Kieferorthopädie heutzutage bereichern. Individualisierte linguale Apparaturen können aufgrund ihrer Präzision gewisse Vorteile mit sich bringen, die der Kieferorthopäde kennen und anwenden sollte. Eine Hemmschwelle bezüglich des Einsatzes der Lingualtechnik stellt ihr teils komplexes Handling dar. Mit der aktuellen Weiterentwicklung dieser Technik hinsichtlich selbstligierender Brackets wird das Handling für den Anwender entscheidend verbessert und somit die Verwendung der Lingualtechnik attraktiver. Dieser Artikel soll einen kleinen Einblick in die Möglichkeiten dieser modernen Kieferorthopädie im Rahmen der Erwachsenenbehandlung geben.

Abstract

The orthodontic treatment of adult patients is constantly increasing, pre-prosthetic indications, periodontally damaged teeth, but also orthodontic relapse treatments, which may be associated with the “X-Effect” can be part of the daily patient occurrence in orthodontics. Individualized lingual appliances can have certain advantages due to their precision that the orthodontist should know and use. In the meantime, the lingual technique as developed regarding self-ligating braces. This makes the handling of the lingual appliance much easier for the orthodontists. This article should give a small insight into the possibilities of modern Orthodontics for adult treatment.
