Frakturen des oberen Sprunggelenkes zählen zu den 10 häufigsten Frakturen des erwachsenen Menschen. Dabei haben das initiale diagnostische und therapeutische Vorgehen einen großen Einfluss auf den weiteren Verlauf und das Outcome. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die grundlegenden klinischen und radiologischen Untersuchungsverfahren sowie die Akutbehandlung in der Notaufnahme. Am Ende des Artikels erfolgt ein Ausblick über das weitere Vorgehen.
