Zusammenfassung
Mandibuläre Asymmetrien die mit persistierendem Unterkieferwachstum assoziiert sind, manifestieren sich häufig im jungen Erwachsenenalter. Konservativen Therapieansätzen sind diese Dysgnathien nicht mehr zugänglich. Therapie der Wahl stellt ein kombiniert kieferorthopädisch-kieferchirurgisches Konzept dar. Der nachfolgend dokumentierte Fall soll ein mögliches Therapiekonzept am Beispiel einer jungen Patientin mir hemimandibulärer Hyperplasie veranschaulichen.
Abstract
Mandibular asymmetries associated with persistent mandibular growth often manifest in young adulthood. These dysgnathias are no longer amenable to conservative therapeutic approaches. The therapy of choice is a combined orthodontic and maxillofacial surgical concept. The case documented below is intended to illustrate a possible therapy concept using the example of a young patient with hemimandibular hyperplasia.
