Punktion eines Portkatheters – Schritt für Schritt

Ein Portkatheter (Port) ist ein vollständig unter die Haut implantierter, dauerhafter zentraler Venenkatheter. Er besteht aus einem Reservoir mit einer Membran, die sich mit einer speziellen Nadel durch die Haut hindurch punktieren lässt. Ports werden in der hausärztlichen Versorgung vorrangig im Rahmen onkologischer Mitbetreuung, parenteraler Ernährung, palliativer Versorgung oder in Ausnahmefällen auch zur wiederholten Blutentnahme genutzt.
