Der klinische Fall: Chirurgische Entfernung einer pränatal entstandenen Proliferation

Ein 4 Wochen altes Fohlen mit einer angeborenen handballgroßen Umfangsvermehrung distal der linken Crista facialis wurde mit Anzeichen einer Septikämie in der Klinik vorgestellt. Hier wurde die Verdachtsdiagnose vaskuläres Hamartom mit Sekundärinfektion erhoben und eine chirurgische Therapie eingeleitet. Zwar entwickelte das Fohlen nachfolgend eine septische Arthritis beider Kniegelenke, dennoch konnte es als geheilt entlassen werden und wird heute uneingeschränkt als Reitpferd genutzt.
