Dhairya Mehta et al. Cold versus hot endoscopic mucosal resection for large sessile colon polyps: a cost-effectiveness analysis

Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) without diathermy (cold EMR) is increasingly used because of its safety advantages over conventional EMR (hot EMR). This cost analysis study modeled the two techniques with up to 30 months of follow-up, investigating procedural costs, adverse events, and recurrences. Cold EMR was more cost-effective than hot EMR, including when sensitivity analyses were performed that adjusted for clip costs and recurrence rates.
