Vertebro- und Kyphoplastie

Zusammenfassung

Die Vertebroplastie und die Kyphoplastie sind minimalinvasive, perkutane Augmentationsverfahren. Sie werden meist bei schmerzhaften osteoporotischen Wirbelkörperkompressionsfrakturen des älteren Menschen eingesetzt. Durch den demografischen Wandel ist mit einem ansteigenden Versorgungsbedarf zu rechnen. In diesem Beitrag werden Indikationen, technische Prinzipien und mögliche Komplikationen beider Verfahren beleuchtet und die aktuelle Literatur dargestellt.

Abstract

Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are minimally invasive, percutaneous augmentation procedures. They are most commonly used for painful osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures in the elderly. Other indications include the treatment of vertebral metastases and multiple myeloma. In addition to pain relief, the therapeutic goals are stabilization and, if necessary, re-erection of the affected vertebral body. Due to the demographic change, an increasing demand for treatment is to be expected. In this article, indications, technical principles and possible complications of both procedures are highlighted and the current literature is presented.
