Das Tablet als Standard in der Klinik – mobile digitale Patientenakten und mobiler Workflow

Zusammenfassung

Die Digitalisierung hat auch in der Medizin zunehmenden Einzug gefunden. Eine Vielzahl an digitalen Patientenakten sind auf dem Markt verfügbar, unter anderem auch App-basierte Lösungen auf handelsüblichen Tablet-Computern. Der Tablet-Computer eignet sich dank hoher Leistungsfähigkeit und guter Mobilität besonders um eine digitale mobile Patientenakte zu realisieren. Die Etablierung dieser Tablets in den klinischen Alltag stellt Voraussetzungen an Technik, Datenschutz, Hygiene, Mitarbeiter und die erweiterte Infrastruktur; ermöglicht jedoch eine Erleichterung der interdisziplinären und interprofessionellen Kommunikation, eine sicherere Dokumentation und eine optimierte Patientenversorgung. Auf die essenziellen Schritte und Voraussetzungen, sowie die Vor- und Nachteile zur Umsetzung der Tablets in den klinischen Alltag wird in diesem Artikel anhand der App Checkpad MED eingegangen.

Abstract

With advances in digitization taking hold in the medical field, we have seen an increase in the use of Tablet Computers and other mobile digital devices in clinical practice. Several solutions for digitizing patient records have recently come to market, including app-based solutions which can be utilized on commercially available tablet computers. Thanks to their high performance and good mobility, tablet computers are particularly suitable for creating and accessing digital patient records. The emerging prevalence of these tablets in everyday clinical practice has created new requirements for hospitals in the areas of technology support, data protection, hygiene, employee training and staffing, as well as expanded infrastructure needs. That being said, with those increased needs comes the benefits of streamlining interdisciplinary and interprofessional communication, facilitating a more secure system of patient information management, and optimizing patient care. The essential steps and requirements, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of implementing tablets in everyday clinical practice, are discussed in this article and demonstrated with examples from the Checkpad MED app.
