Bashar Qumseya et al. Prevalence of Barrett’s esophagus in obese patients undergoing pre-bariatric surgery evaluation: a systematic review and meta-analysis

The prevalence of Barrett's esophagus in patients undergoing bariatric surgery was found in this systematic review to be 0.9 %, which is similar to the risk in the general population and argues against obesity being a major risk factor for Barrett's esophagus.
