Lung Ultrasound in COVID-19 Patients – More Shadows Than Information – Letter to the Editor on the Article “W. LU et al. Ultraschall in Med. 2020 Apr 15”

Dear Editor.
The article by W. Lu et al. [W Lu et al. Ultraschall in Med 2020; 41: 300–307] is a timely, retrospective report on the early experience using lung ultrasound (US) in Zhuhai, China.
The authors describe their in-hospital experience over an 18-day period (January 18 to February 5, 2020) regarding early chest imaging in 30 patients, two of whom had tested positive using the COVID-19 nucleic acid test (RT-PCR method). It should be noted that critically ill patients who needed the support of ventilators were excluded. An extension to the study period would only have added a few extra cases, owing to COVID-19 outbreak containment in that region of China.
