ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

Dialyseshunts werden weltweit am häufigsten mit Stahlkanülen punktiert. Pflegepersonal in der Dialyse besitzen Kenntnisse über Dialysekanülen und große Fertigkeiten in der Punktion von Dialyseshunts. Der Shuntkatheter („fistula catheter“), umgangssprachlich als Plastikkanüle bezeichnet, stellt eine wichtige Variante zu herkömmlichen Punktionskanülen dar. Indikationen sind eine gelenknahe Punktion, unruhige Patienten oder tief liegende Shuntvenen. Für die sichere Anwendung von Shuntkathetern sind ausreichend theoretisches Wissen und praktische Kenntnisse erforderlich.
