Tomoaki Tashima et al. Efficacy of an over-the-scope clip for preventing adverse events after duodenal endoscopic submucosal dissection: a prospective interventional study

In this study, non-ampullary duodenal epithelial tumors treated with endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) were routinely closed with an over-the-scope clip (OTSC). OTSC closure was successful in 47 of 50 patients (94 %), while one patient developed delayed perforation. Although of interest for the prevention of perforation after duodenal ESD, the cost-effectiveness of this procedure needs to be compared with conventional clips.
