Dr Rajendran considers general philosophy and logic essential for the evaluation of Homeopathy. The book is a compilation of lectures, given to postgraduate students at Vinayaka in three sessions in the past 3 years, also in various Homeopathic medical colleges in India from 1997.

Drug provings were the basis for the Homeopathic Materia Medica, and thus a totality of drug pictures is built up. Patients are individualised as bearers of drug pictures. Verification of Homeopathic medicine is in clinical practice. The problem for Rajendran is that the theoretical explanations ‘are insufficient, and probably unscientific’. The basic principles of physics and chemistry are questioned but for him philosophy teaches us to live without certainty.
