Abstract
Shoulder ultrasound is consistently used in the assessment of rotator cuff and is as accurate as magnetic resonance imaging in the detection of rotator cuff
tear. It can be used as a focused examination providing rapid, real-time diagnosis,
and treatment in desired clinical situations. This article presents a simplified approach
to scanning and image-guided intervention, and discusses common sonographically apparent
shoulder pathologies.
