Summary

The endovenous therapies for varicosal veins have partially replaced surgical procedures. Beside thermal ablation based on laser or high frequency other, catheter based techniques are at hand. The non thermal mechano-chemical ablation (MOCA), that can be performed under local anesthesia, has developed as a safe and effective alternative at reasonable costs since its certification in 2011. A combination of MOCA and surgical treatment or foam sclerotherapy can be per-formed in the same setting or sequentially.
