Zur Effektivität der Behandlung mit festsitzenden Apparaturen
Treatment Efficiency with a Full-Fixed AppliancePublication History
Publication Date:
09 June 2008 (online)
Treatment efficiency depends on understanding the markers of a well-finished case, and then designing an organized treatment protocol that will take you there. Presented here are a set of appliance guidelines that contribute to efficiency, such as ligature-free brackets, pre-coated brackets, self-etch primers, sophisticated prescriptions that eliminate slot play, and choice of arch-wires dependent on tooth movement planned. The direction of tooth movement will seriously affect the final tooth position if the bracket prescription and archwire size are not coordinated. Having more than one bracket prescription in the office is a good solution for this problem. Comprehensive treatment should be divided into three phases, the alignment phase, the working phase, and the detail phase. For each phase, the functions are defined, the archwire re-quirements identified, and archwire choices are suggested for 0.018 and 0.022 slot appliances.
