Adverse drug effects (AEs) and general medical reasons frequently become manifest in the mouth and can easily be mixed up with dental material incompatibility reactions. This underlines the importance of recording the drug history of patients which should also be done by dentists. Therefore it is also important for the dental practitioner to be aware of the most common adverse drug effects of frequently used medication.
