Significance

Aigialomycin D was isolated from the marine mangrove fungus Aigialus parvus. It exhibits activity as an antimalarial and cytotoxic agent. This synthesis of aigialomycin D utilizes a nickel(0)-catalyzed ynal coupling to form the macrocycle.
