Die kieferorthopädische Frühbehandlung im Zeitalter der präventionsorientierten Zahnheilkunde

Zusammenfassung

Die Übersicht zur kieferorthopädischen Frühbehandlung ist orientiert am aktuellen Stand der internationalen Literatur, an den Gesetzesvorgaben in Deutschland und bezieht sich insbesondere auf die verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Stellungnahmen der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Kieferorthopädie. Im allgemeinen Teil werden insbesondere die Zusammenhänge zwischen Fehlfunktionen und Fehlentwicklungen sowie die Anomalien des progenen Formenkreises und die Angle Klasse II / 1 im Kontext der Frühbehandlung diskutiert. Bei den Indikationen für eine kieferorthopädische Frühbehandlung werden die dringende apparative Maßnahme und die Notwendigkeit einer Frühbehandlung bei chronisch progredienten Befunden unterschieden. Das Spektrum zwischen der Ultrafrühbehandlung bei Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumenspalt-Patienten und dem offenen Biss bewertet die Diagnostik und adäquate Therapiesequenzen zur Unterbrechung der Progredienz von Morphologie und Funktion und zeigt insbesondere den präventiven Charakter der kieferorthopädischen Frühbehandlung innerhalb der präventionsorientierten modernen Zahnmedizin auf.

Abstract

This review on early orthodontic treatment considers the latest international publications on the subject, the legal rules according to German Health Law and, especially, the guidelines of the German Orthodontic Society. In the general part, the relationship between dysfunction and malocclusion as well as Class III and II / 1 anomalies are discussed in the context of early orthodontic treatment. The indications for early orthodontic treatment are subdivided into urgent appliance treatment and early orthodontic treatment in chronic progressive malocclusions. Suitable diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for interrupting the progression of morphologic and functional abnormalities are shown for a broad spectrum of malocclusions reaching from cleft lip palate to open bite demonstrating the preventive nature of early orthodontic treatment in modern dental medicine that focuses on prevention.
