Abstract

A most complete 1H-NMR analysis (270 MHz) based on spin-spin decoupling experiments and observation of nuclear Overhauser effects is described for the biogenetically related indole alkaloids ajmalicine, 19-epi-ajmalicine, tetrahydroalstonine, rauniticine and geissoschizine.
