Significance

Aminoboranes are relatively new and interesting reducing agents, possessing a high activity and useful selectivity. They are also easy to prepare and can be handled safely. Their use avoids the hazard associated with strong reducing agents like LiAlH4. Herein, the study of the reactive scope of diisopropylamine-borane as a reducing agent is described. Besides, several new reactions, previously not developed for aminoboranes, such as Pd-catalyzed boronation of aryl bromides and hydroboration are reported.
