Summary

24 patients with rheumatoid arthritis underwent a three weeks' physiotherapy in an outpatient department or a spa in intervals of six months. Monthly controls of the degrees of motion and of the special functional values of the hands were performed. A decrease of the grip of the hands is to be recognized in the course of the year. But also the rigidity of the hands decreases. The necessity of a power training within the continuous plan of therapy is discussed.
