Summary

In 45 patients with multiple sclerosis and incomplete transverse lesions of the cord with paraplegia the effect of trapezoid current in the four-electrode system was analysed. This treatment becomes possible by an electronic switch in coupling with the usual exciting current devices. In more than two thirds of the patients a clear improvement of the motor and sensitive disturbances and the functions of the cerebellum developed.

Consequently, the treatment with trapezoid current is an actual enrichment in therapy and rehabilitation of the multiple sclerosis and the incomplete transverse lesions of the cord with paraplegia.
