Canaloplasty & Collector Channel Micro-Angiography
The author describes the surgical procedure of Canaloplasty, for open angle glaucoma. (Following Viscocanalostomy, Schlemm's canal is dilated with a micro-catheter though 360° (iScience i-Track™) and Proline suture(s) inserted into the canal under tension, where possible. The technique of Collector Channel Micro-Angiography is also described together with the potential problems of micro-catheterisation. The possible mechanisms by which this technique achieves a drop in intraocular pressure are also discussed.
