Abstract

This article gives a complete outline of various phantoms that could be helpful for ultrasound guided biopsies. In particular, it examines a variety of commercial and homemade phantoms that are helpful to simulate breast tissue and may be useful in learning the technique of performing percutaneous biopsy in the breast. It also details various other models that could be used for sterotatic biopsy in the breast as well as vascular access models. These models could also be helpful to learn general interventional techniques.
