Summary

The disease of acute pituitary apoplexy is illustrated by four personal cases. In addition to clinical symptoms, possible pathophysiological mechanisms and even differential diagnostic approaches are outlined. The results and the importance of computer tomographic investigations are especially considered. Finally, possibilities of treatment, particularly indications and relationships for operation are discussed.

Zusammenfassung

Apoplektiforme Blutungen in Hypophysentumoren werden durch Beschreibung von vier Fällen eigener Patienten belegt. Neben den klinischen Symptomen werden die möglichen pathophysiologischen Mechanismen und auch die differentialdiagnostischen Ansätze beschrieben. Die Ergebnisse und Bedeutung computertomographischer Untersuchungen werden besonders ausführlich behandelt. Schließlich werden die Behandlungsmöglichkeiten und insbesondere die Indikation und Zusammenhänge für ein operatives Vorgehen besprochen.
