Die belastungsstabile Spondylodese bei Verletzungen der unteren Halswirbelsäule

Zusammenfassung

Angesichts der hohen Spätinstabilitätsrate bei konservativer Behandlung von Halswirbelsäulenfrakturen halten wir eine frühe operative Stabilisierung für angezeigt. Neben der sofortigen Dekompression des Rückenmarkes wird eine schnelle Mobilisierung der Patienten ohne äußere Fixierung ermöglicht. Wir berichten über die Ergebnisse der operativen Therapie bei 97 Patienten mit Verletzungen der unteren Halswirbelsäule. Diskutiert werden Operationsindikationen sowie -methoden und deren Komplikationen.

Abstract

In view of the high incidence of late instability in the conservative treatment of cervical spine fractures, operative stabilization should be performed as soon as possible. Besides immediate decompression of the spinal cord, rapid mobilisation of the patient without external fixation is possible. We report on the results of operative treatment in 97 patients with injuries of the lower cervical spine. The indication to spondylodesis as well as the operative methods and their complications are discussed.
