Summary

Two cases of carotid artery injury due to shotgun blast are presented, one of which resulted in a carotid-cavernous sinus fistula. The diagnosis, natural history, and treatment of this condition is discussed, with emphasis on patient management.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über zwei Fälle einer Verletzung der A. carotis interna als Folge von Kopfschuß(Gewehrschuß)verletzungen berichtet, wobei in einem Fall eine Sinus cavernosus-Fistel zur A. carotis entstand. Diagnose, Vorgeschichte und Behandlung werden erörtert, wobei das Hauptgewicht auf der Behandlung liegt.
