Abstract
We can say that diagnostic information supplied by examination of the synovial fluid
obtained by puncture of the affected joint, can be improved upon via analysis of discrimination.
A sufficiently comprehensive minimum programme for differentiating between inflammatory,
non-inflammatory, crystal synovitides and bacterial arthritides includes the total
cell count, determination of the differential blood picture, the granulocyte count,
the Waaler-Rose test (sheep cell agglutination test = SCAT), the total immunoglobulin
count, the crystals and the bacteriological pattern.
Zusammenfassung
Wir können feststellen, daß mit Hilfe der multiplen Diskriminanzanalyse eine Verbesserung
der diagnostischen Aussage der Gelenkpunktatuntersuchung ermöglicht wird. Als Minimalprogramm
zur Differenzierung von entzündlichen, nicht entzündlichen, Kristallsynovitiden und
bakteriellen Arthritiden ist die Bestimmung der Gesamtzellzahl, des Differentialbildes,
der Granulozyten, des Waaler-Rose-Testes, der Gesamtimmunglobuline, der Kristalle
und der Bakteriologie ausreichend.
