Abstract
This contribution describes the application of rapid FLASH MR imaging for pre-operative studies of the rheumatoid hand. Two- and three-dimensional MR images of anatomical specimens, of the normal and of the rheumatoid hand were recorded with special emphasis on the wrist, the carpus, and the fingers. Preliminary case reports deal with a synovitis and a rupture of the flexor tendon in rheumatoid arthritis.
