Abstract
Multicentric reticulohistiocytosis (MR), which is also called lipoiddermatoarthritis, is a rare systemic disorder of unknown etiology, involving mainly the skin and the synovial tissue of joints with arthritis mutilans in up to 50% of the patients. Histologically an infiltrate consisting of histiocytes and multinucleated giant cells is typical. In a case report, the clinical, histological and electron microscopic features of this disease, as well as differential diagnosis and therapy, are discussed.
