Abstract
Corticocancellous bone grafts from the iliac crest are suitable for anterior fusion of the spine in various indications. The remaining defect in the iliac bone often causes pain an is mostly unsatisfactory. To repair this defect we use homologeous bone from human femoral heads. The bone is cut and a slice is well fitted in and than fixed with sutures or Kirschner wires. Complete bone remodeling and reconstruction of the iliac crest occures within six months after this procedure, which is easy to perform.
