Der Eingriff nach G. Hohmann am Ellbogen - operative Behandlung eines Symptoms?

Zusammenfassung

Die laterale Epikondylopathie kann als zusätzliches Symptom bei Halswirbelsäulen- und Schulteraffektionen wie auch bei neurologischen oder arthropathischen Ellbogen- und Handgelenksbeschwerden beobachtet werden. Mit einer Nachkontrolle von 63mal nach Hohmann operierten Patienten wird angezeigt, daß das Leiden mit genügender differentialdiagnostischer Vorabklärung als eigenständiges Krankheitsbild angenommen und erfolgreich behandelt werden kann. Epidemiologische Studien und differentialdiagnostische Erwägungen anderer Autoren werden verglichen und mit konservativen und operativen Behandlungsresultaten in Zusammenhang gestellt.

Abstract

Lateral epicondylopathia, well known as “tennis elbow”, sometimes may only be a symptom of cervical spine and shoulder deseases or may also occur in neuropathy or arthropathy of the elbow or wrist joint. A follow-up of 63 patients, four years after Hohmann's procedure, shows that there really exists an idiopathic form of this desease. Careful differential diagnosis and special consideration of the epidemiology is of prime importance if conservative treatment and surgery is to be successful.
